More than 150 Christian delegates from across the globe are set to gather in Chennai on the south east coast of India for the 2009 Council for World Mission Assembly between 20 and 27 June.

Hosted by the Church of South India, the week-long event will see representatives meet from each of CWM's 31 member bodies worldwide to reflect on its partnership in misson over the last three years and focus on the challenges for the future.

CWM meets as an Assembly once every three years. Four delegates from each of CWM's members attend, with guests from CWM's ecumenical partners and kindred bodies.

CWM Assembly is a special opportunity for people from very different cultures and experience of Christian living to come together, to pray, learn from each other and to build mission partnerships.
